Key technology for waterlogging control and drought mitigation in irrigated farmlands
Time: 2017-03-30 | Hits:

IWHR has completed a state-funded research on key technology for waterlogging control and drought mitigation in irrigated farmlands. Combining field investigation, experiment and theories, the research team spent five years conducting studies on the related technologies, modeling loss assessment based on waterlogging process, establishing joint regulation system of waterlogging control projects that combines the coupling of runoff generation and confluence, loss assessment and optimal regulation, proposing a ditch-pond engineering mode and design method, quantifying the irrigation and drainage demands as well as the regulatable rainfall with irrigation modes in different hydrologic years, and developing a real-time irrigation forecast and quota management platform based on technologies such as GIS and WebService.

The output of this research has been applied to irrigated areas in Jiangsu, Hubei and other provinces.
