Research on sediment control and functional recovery of reservoirs and lakes
Time: 2017-10-11 | Hits:

IWHR is working on a national key research and development program in “sediment control and functional recovery of reservoirs and lakes”.

Aiming at addressing reservoir sedimentation and lake dwindling, according to the overall technical thinking of “investigation and platform-process and mechanism-technology and demonstration-measures and strategies”, this project is intended to investigate the status of sediment in lakes and reservoirs to reveal the law of motion and sedimentation mechanism of water and sediment and pollutants in lakes and reservoirs driven by many factors, put forward the regulation technique for maintaining long-term available storage of reservoirs and recovery techniques of lost storage due to sediments, research and develop lake and reservoir sediment disposal and resource utilization technology and equipment and propose different lake and reservoir functional recovery schemes so as to provide scientific and technological support for the realization of efficient utilization of water resources.
