The research of river basin information obtaining technology based on Internet of Things is a subject of the National Key Technology Research and Development Program for the 12th-Five Year Plan Period. Following the approach of building theoretical framework, researching on key technologies, integrating into a platform and demonstration and application, this subject has been basically finished presenting three main achievements, namely putting forward the basic theoretical system and technological framework of smart river basin，establishing the key technology system of river basin information obtaining based on the Internet of Things, and building a prototype of a clout platform for information obtaining. Five technical standards have been drafted based on this project in addition to 19 patents and 5 software copyrights.
