Abstract: The projects of artificial water body continue to increase in urban planning and design, but the projects constructed face many problems, such as eutrophication, sediment deposition and water quality deterioration. It’s difficult to achieve the effect of beautifying environment. This paper discusses artificial water body project taking Wen’an county of Hebei province as an example. The project combines a variety of techniques containing cycle system, biological system and wetland system. The design considers protecting and improving the ecosystem environment, and maintaining artificial water body. The completed project will play a significant role in maintaining biological diversity, purifying water, and tempering the climates.
