Research on forecast technology of wind-induced erosion of disturbed land surface
Time: 2016-05-25 | Hits:

The International Research and Training Center on Erosion and Sedimentation (IRTCES), stationed at IWHR, undertook a project on forecast technology research of wind-induced erosion of disturbed land surface. This project conducts the classification of disturbed land surfaces under the force of wind and wind erosion experiments on different disturbed land surfaces, analyzes key wind erosion factors, and constructs calculation models of wind-erosion volume for various types of disturbed land surfaces. The issue of time interval when calculating wind eroded soil volume in wind tunnel simulations is discussed, a database of national wind erosion environment conditions established, and relevant results demonstrated in sites like Yumen section of Lanzhou-Xinjiang railway, Golmud PV power plant in Qinghai Province and Jinchang industrial waste dump site in Gansu Province.

Outputs from the project are hoped to provide theoretical reference to the calculation methodology of nationwide soil erosion in wind erosion areas, and the establishment of relevant technical standards.
