Abstract: Stiffness of substructure is always needed as boundary condition for the design of the superstructure, while it is influenced by non-linear stiffness of soil. Based on the theory of small-strain, this paper adopts the quasi-static method to calculate the dynamic stiffness of rigid pile foundation. We simulate the stiffness degeneration of soil through the circulation of7mechanic balance-stiffness strain compatibility-mechanic balance8. Then both the mechanic balance and stiffness strain compatibility are achieved and we get the stiffness of rigid pile foundation. This calculation method is implemented in a finite difference method, and the dynamic stiffness of single pile and pile group are obtained. Results show that the proposed method can provide reasonable paramefers for superstructure mechanical analysis.

Key words: rigid pile foundation; small-strain stiffness behavior; dynamic stiffness; quasi-static calculation method
