Abstract: An Ms. 6.1 earthquake induced by the Xinfengjiang reservoir occurred in 1962. Since then, the reservoir-induced earthquake monitoring work has had a history of 50 years in our country. In this paper, we expound the purpose and meaning of reservoir-induced earthquake monitoring. Reservoir-induced earth quake monitoring makes it possible to accurately judge the reservoir-induced earthquake’ occurrence and development trends, and to correctly guide the direction of public opinion. For half a century, after the three stages of development, the work has fully entered the digitization and remote transmission period. The reservoir-induced earthquake monitoring system composition and operational requirements were described in de tail. In the end, the setting station conditions and some other relevant issues were discussed.
