Abstract: Evapotranspiration (ET) temporal upscaling method plays an important role in regional ET estimation. Performance of the ET temporal upscaling method was investigated in this paper. The ET data were measured by Eddy covariance and Lysimeter for winter wheat crop from April to June. The results show that for hourly-to-daily scale, the variation of spatial scale shows relatively little impact on ET temporal upscaling method by using measurements in the afternoon. Thus, the appropriate ET temporal upscaling method should be selected according to the spatial scales, climate zones and the underlying surface for a given site.

Key words: spatial scale, temporal scale, Eddy covariance, Lysimeter, evapotranspiration, upscaling
