Korean Water Resources Corporation (K-water) CEO Choi Gyewoon and his 6 colleagues visited IWHR on January 28, 2015 and signed an MOU with the institute for cooperation.

IWHR President Kuang Shangfu and Vice President Jia Jinsheng received the delegation. Dr. Kuang first reviewed the institute’s cooperation with the Korean counterparts, K-water in particular, and made an introduction of China’s new policies and investment in water sector. He believed the signing of an MOU would enhance technical exchange and cooperation in fields such as the construction, operation, management and information development of water-related projects, and smart water network as well. The president also expressed the possibility of establishing a regular exchange mechanism between both sides to strengthen cooperation and share advanced technologies and experience.

Mr. Choi made a brief introduction of K-water, including their cooperation and exchange with Chinese entities. He hoped both sides could, based on the MOU, promote technical cooperation and exchange in fields of shared interests, especially in smart water management, so as to promote the sustainable development of water resources and make contributions to the technological progress of water resources in Asia and even the world.

IWHR president and K-water CEO then signed the MOU for extending future cooperation. Vice President Dr. Jia accompanied the Korean guests to some laboratories after the meeting.
