Laboratory of Blasting Engineering
The laboratory has a floor area of 520m2. The  explosion simulation facility contains a blasting chamber, 9m in diameter, supported by microcomputer-aided multi-channel data acquisition and processing system, high-speed A/D converters, character printers, X-Y plotters and high-speed cameras etc.,
 
The wire explosion facility includes a wire explosion system with total discharge energy of 75,000 joules and digital storage oscilloscopes
 
The dynamic photoelastic facility includes a ruby laser device and a synchronous framing camera with a speed of 2,500,000 fps.
 
These facilities are used for experiments of explosion simulation and analysis of dynamic photoelastic stress as well as the measurements of stress and strain, underwater shock wave, and pore pressure. The laboratory is also equipped with various in-struments to measure the effect of explosive vibration, as well as dynamic and static deformation of soil and rock in the field.
