Hydrodynamic Laboratory for High Velocity Flow Research

The Hydrodynamic laboratory, covering a total area of 2600m2, is composed of two separate parts. A reinforced concrete high building is designed to accomodate two major facilities, namely, a high speed water tunnel and a large size vacumm tank, being used for  applied and basic cavitation research on hydralic structures as well as hydraulic machinery, two micro-computers are avaiable to perform centralized control as well as data acquisition and processing respectively.

Another part, vaing a water circulation system of 0.6 m3/s in discharge can be used for conducting local model tests of high head dam spillways and outlet works. Several high-head tanks are available to supply constant high head water flow.
