Flumes for Fundamental Sedimentation Research

There are several testing flumes available to conduct basic research on sedimentation, namely:
(1)A recirculating and adjustable slope test flume, 32 m in length, 0.45 m in width, is being used to investigate hyper-concentration flow, carrying maximum silt content as high as 500 to 600 kg/m³, maximum discharge available is 0.09 m³/s
(2)An adjustable slope test flume, 14.5 m long, with variable slopes ranging from 0 to 3%
(3)A recirculating system with a 150 mm diameter pipe line, is being used for studying hyper-concentration flow in pipes
(4)Six other flumes of different lengths and widths for sedimentation and basic research

	1. A flume, 240 m I length, used for investigating long distance sediment transport and conducting sediment flocculation and settling tests.
2. A recirculating flume, 32 m long, with adjustable slopes ranging from 0 to 2%, and a maximum silt content of 600 kg/m³.
	3 The HIAC/ROYCO Type PA-720 rapid sediment size distribution analyzer, with grain sizes ranging from 1 to 9000 um.
