Pipeline Water Transport and Distribution Technology in Canal Irrigation District

After three years’ efforts,  IWHR program on integration research of pipeline water transport and distribution and irrigation technologies in canal irrigation districts has been successfully completed. During the program, a total of 5050 mu demonstration and experimental bases were built to facilitate the research.

The research has achieved a series of results including open and semi-closed pipeline water transfer system, float valve for pressure regulation, internal force calculation method under concentrated loading conditions of concrete pipeline, balancing and regulating technology for water transfer and distribution pressure and flow, safety and project managing technology of piping system, field irrigation technology that is complementary to the piping system, applicable conditions of the designing methods and technologies of pipeline water transport and distribution in canal irrigation areas, etc.

The program has played an important role in the promotion and application of pipeline water transport and distribution technology in areas with suitable conditions and laid a good foundation for substituting canal water transfer with piping in the future.
